In the 9th and final episode of Season 2 Soul Themes, we look at the way the planets work as partners to evolve both individual and collective soul themes through Astrology {Personality} & Design.

What is a partner planet?
A partner planet is when 2 planets are connected to each other through theme. Similar yet different than an aspect as they may not be seemingly connected on your astrology chart but they work together for your individual as well as the collective benefit.
For example, the Sun and Moon or Earth work together mingling their approaches to create a deeper conscious understanding of your human identity as it relates to emotion {Moon} or spirit {Earth}.
It is through use of differentiation, or finding the function of each, that you’re able to utilize them in their respective area. When you have the knowledge of both the planet themes and your unique theme for each, you’re able to consciously work with the energy for strength and support.

How are Mercury and Uranus connected?
Both planet themes focus on innovative ideas that can then be communicated or expressed/shared with others.
Mercury focuses on the vibration of your linear experiences for individual soul growth while Uranus disrupts the status quo in the collective.
Simply put, Mercury works with your experiences to bring about individual growth of perspective which in turn creates innovation.
Uranus, on the other hand, focuses on introducing new perspectives to shift the collective mindset.
How are Venus and Neptune connected?
Both planet themes focus on relationships {or giving and receiving balance} through use of unconditional love and transcendence of perspective.
Venus focuses on growing your energetic relationships {people, money, time, etc.} to transcend beliefs as an individual benefit while Neptune enhances the collective experience through transcending individual beliefs to create a connection to all {oneness}.
In another words, Venus works with your relationships to bring out unconditional love for the journey to transcend beliefs that aren’t yours.
Neptune, on the other hand, works with relationships to shift beliefs to create a sense of oneness.
How are Mars and Pluto connected?
Both planet themes focus on change through regeneration, guided by the themes of control and surrender to break free one’s desires.
Mars focuses on regenerating your passion through use of control and surrender for your individual desires while Pluto breaks you free from the matrix to find the soul’s desires that support the evolution of the collective.
To simplify, Mars brings the drive and passion for your aligned desires to become your own individual, growing through the journey to receive the desire.
Pluto, on the other hand, takes the journey through the collective, bringing soul desires to your attention while clearing what stands in the way of rebirth.

How do you work with your Astrology {Personality in Human Design} to utilize this partnership?
First, look to the astrology sign of your individual and collective planets to gain the bigger picture. For example, my astrology charts shows Mercury is in Leo and Uranus is in Libra.
This knowledge helps me to understand my innate energy approach to bring perspective to my individual experiences with Mercury is supported with respect and recognition of my passions through Leo while my disruption to the status quo in the collective through Uranus is supported by harmony and balance through my relationships from Libra. Since these energies are divine masculine, they work well with deliberate focus.

Next, enter the planet degrees where our Human Design Personality gates can be utilized to emphasize and bring specificity to the soul theme in conscious understanding.
My Mercury Personality Gate is 29, signaling that the approach of commitment and devotion to my individual experiences as I think and communicate supports my evolutionary growth while the Uranus Personality Gate of 57 utilizes the approach to penetrate through the distractions from the collective conditioning with intuition to bring clarity to the innovative ideas that can disrupt the status quo.

Then to deepen that understanding, look at the line progression.
Since my Mercury Personality Gate is 29.6, the line progression of 6 comes into play, emphasizing the approach of individual choice with higher understanding to wait to commit my energy until the timing/perspective is aligned to come forth innovatively as an idea.
As my Uranus Gate is 57.6, it also utilizes the 6 to support the approach to individualize my knowing when it’s relevant to use intuition to bring forth an innovative idea to disrupt the status quo. My Venus Personality Gate is Libra 48.3 while my Venus Design Gate is Gemini 45.4.

Both my Personality and Design are Air showing the approach of innovation and fluidity is supportive for the Venus theme of growing energetic relationships. Since they are different signs, the initiating Libra approach will be harmonizing and balancing while the supporting adapting approach with Gemini will be more focused on communication. As they are divine masculine energies, they work well with deliberate focus.
Now let’s get more specific with the gates and lines of your design. Please note the below gate and line descriptions use precise summary definition as provided through Attract by Design® offerings.
My personality gate tells me the approach for growing energetic relationships with Venus is to provide knowledge that is nourishing for self-development with gate 48 and it’s through experience that individual gifts are acknowledged with line 3.
My design gate tells me the approach to support and strengthen growing energetic relationships with Venus is to educate through gathering together with gate 45 for the benefit of everyone through line 4, like this blog.
My Neptune Personality Gate is Sagittarius 34.5 while my Neptune Design Gate is Sagittarius 9.1…
Again, let’s look at the bigger version with the astrological signs. In this case, we’re looking at the same element, Fire, which brings passion to get something sparked and through adapting Sagittarius, it works with the unseen to transcend individual beliefs to create a connection to all with Neptune.
Now let’s get more specific with the gates and lines…
My personality gate prepares with the approach to transcend individual beliefs to create a connection to all with Neptune by leading with line 5 through releasing resistance and utilizing restraint to tap into higher power with Gate 34.
My design gate supports and strengthens the approach to transcend individual beliefs to create a connection to all with Neptune by being attentive to life with Gate 9 and investigating/engaging in it, taking small steps and embracing the little details with line 1.
Let’s see what happens when a planet Personality and Design are not in the same element…
to do this, let’s look at my Mars.
My Mars Personality is in Taurus, an Earth element that appreciates what one can sense and make tangible supporting the drive to bring desires into my reality with a honing in approach. With gate 27.5, this is done by cultivating my being, balancing the energy through connecting within and distributing resources for everyone’s benefit.
On the other hand, my Mars Design is in Pisces, a watery element that prefers adapting with fluidity of movement and use of emotion through empathy to support what is unseen. With gate 63.4, it is important that I look to the details of the experiences as I refresh my perspective.
Water from Pisces nourishes the Earth of Taurus to provide less rigidness to bring my desires forth. The details and fresh look of gate 63.4 strengthens and supports balancing the energy to distribute the resources for all to benefit as guided by gate 27.5. As both are divine feminine energies, they work well with flow/surrender.
My Pluto Personality and Design, on the other hand, shares the same approach as my Venus and Neptune do. Interestingly, it is an Air energy through Libra with a focus on the energy of Serendipity through gate 46.
